Pokemon Go is exclusively available for Android and iOS, and with Niantic not saying a word about whether it plans to make the game available for Windows Phone, many Microsoft users are considering a possible switch in the coming weeks so they can play the latest game.
Most posts on Microsoft's online communities show that even the most die-hard Windows Phone users are considering switching to either an Android phone or an iPhone, as the lack of apps is now a truly frustrating problem for the platform.
While the lack of apps isn't necessarily a problem for many Windows Phone users, Niantic's decision to release Pokemon Go only on Android and iOS was the icing on the cake.
There are many Microsoft customers who are no longer willing to accept being left behind every time.
“I’m going to switch to the S7 edge soon. I really like Windows Phone and I’m not a fan of Android, but out of 10 Apps I want to use, 7 are not available on Windows Phone. Pokemon is just one of those Apps that my friends keep talking about and all I can say is that I can’t play it. I still use my old iPod for some things.”
Explains one user in a comment.
The gap left by the application has "hit" many users lately, the next few months are predicted to be critical for Windows Phone, despite the arrival of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update on August 2.
