You can try AMAZON's Echo voice service before deciding to buy it
Amazon's smart home offering, the "Echo," has been a huge success with over 3 million units sold. In fact, the Echo has carved out a whole new niche for itself in the smart home space, and Google and Apple are planning to join the fray soon. Google has already introduced its own Google Home, while Apple is launching an API to take on the role of Amazon's Echo.
If you're planning to buy Amazon's Echo to try out the new smart home concept, you'll have to pay $200 for the product. Now you can try it out before you decide whether to buy it or not.
Amazon has launched a website to offer you this benefit. It will allow you to experience the Alexa voice service for free through your browser. Simply go to Echosim.io and log in with your Amazon account. After that, simply press and hold the microphone button to find out what Alexa is capable of doing.
The idea is similar to that of creator Sam Machin who premiered at the Hackathon in 2015. Amazon's new website (Echosim.io) is identical to this project and showcases Alexa's functionality against a backdrop of 3D Javascript animations.
Thanks to this development, you can now try out Alexa's skills without having to buy an Alexa-enabled device, for the first time. You can also get a clearer picture of how the Amazon Echo works and decide whether you want to invest $200 in this new product.
