NASA is hiding a big ISIS secret, say DDoS attack hackers
A group of hackers affiliated with the hacktivist group Anonymous has reportedly attacked NASA's computer systems as part of a global campaign against government cover-ups. The two hacking groups, called New World Hacking and AnonCorrupt, claimed to have sent a DDoSed email to NASA's website and email servers on Sunday.
Although the NASA website appears to be up and running, hackers have demonstrated a DDoS attack on the Mirror. The hackers told Mirror.co.uk that NASA had withheld a piece of key information about the terrorist organization ISIS, although they did not reveal what classified information this might be.
New World Hacking is the same group that attacked the BBC website on New Year's Eve and took it down for several hours.
NASA, for its part, denied the attack. The hackers presented a screenshot from nasa.gov to the Mirror as proof of their attack.
“We believe NASA is a brake on information about many things, not just one,” a member of New World Hacking told Mirror.co.uk. “The main thing we suspect is that they are withholding some information about ISIS that the public needs to know.”
“We won’t tell the public what we think it’s hiding – We’ll let NASA explain”
The hacking group said the DDoS attack on NASA was a part of a campaign called Operation Censorship (or #OPCensorship) and was also a practical move for the upcoming cyber-attack against Donald Trump, which is expected to take place on April Fool's Day.
“This attack is a protest and a demonstration,” he continued. “We want Trump to know he’s next.”
New World Hacking said NASA's email servers had been "downed" during the hack attacks, which were launched by a series of supporters around the world.
