His comment about the Social Democratic Minister of Education was: “He, a migrant’s son from a pink party, should be over-cautious».
«After thinking, I decided to resign as Minister of Finance. I do this because the Estonian state is more important than my job», it is reported that Liga, a member of the Reform Party, said in a press release issued by the government.
The resignation was immediately accepted by Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas, but it must also be accepted by the president before it comes into effect.
Based on the current coalition agreement between the Reformist Party and the Social Democrats, the portfolio of the Ministry of Finance belongs to the Reformist Party, which now must find a candidate for the position.
