Researchers from CERN and MITcreated the email service ProtonMail for end-to-end encryption of all emails.
End-to-end encryption doesn't even allow the creators to see the emails on ProtonMail, making the service the most secure in its field.
With the announcements of surveillance by the NSA and governments, researchers were looking to create a secure solution away from surveillance and leaks.
The two teams spent a long time developing ProtonMail, as they faced the biggest problem of the computing power required for encryption on any device or browser.
Another advantage of Protonmail is that the service is based in Switzerland, as are the servers, and users benefit from the country's "privacy." Registrations are made without asking for information and IP addresses are not recorded.
According to the creators, no service is 100% secure, but this one makes monitoring extremely difficult for anyone who wishes to do so.
