As we reported last month, Microsoft will release Windows 8.1 with Bing. But as expected, the upcoming version leaked before the company officially released it.
Windows 8.1 with Bing is available online today and you can download it if you know where to look. Of course, this particular version of the operating system cannot be found on Microsoft's official website, which is designed only to serve OEMs, but it was leaked through unofficial channels.
We don't know if Windows 8.1 with Bing will be offered for free or at some lower cost to manufacturers, but Microsoft's main goal is to encourage them to develop more affordable devices that will help drive adoption of the new modern operating system.
"This new version will be available pre-installed by our manufacturers only. Some of these devices, particularly tablets, will also have Office installed or will come with a one-year subscription to Office 365," the company said.
If you decide to download and install Windows 8.1 with Bing, keep in mind that since it comes through unofficial channels, you may not be supported by Microsoft in case something happens to you.
