The application "sucks" 17% of the iPhone's autonomy
The "bombshell" exploded when Scott Loveless, a former Apple Store employee, posted a series of iPhone battery life measurements on his blog.
According to Loveless' measurements, which were subsequently confirmed by top German iOS developer Sebastian Düvel, the Facebook app is the main reason why the iPhone battery drains faster than we would like.
Specifically, the Facebook app, even when running in the background, consumes up to 17% of the device's battery life.
Because we believe that those of you who have an iPhone also have the Facebook application installed, the following instructions will help you extend the battery life of your mobile phone:
Turn off Location Services
1. Open Settings.
2. Select Privacy.
3. Select Location Services.
4. Turn off Facebook.
Turn off Background App Refresh
1. Open Settings.
2. Select General.
3. Select Background App Refresh.
4. Turn off Facebook.
Once you close these two "switches" of the application, you can see the notifications, likes and other gossip of the popular social network by clicking "refresh" in the application's interface.
To save even more on your iPhone's battery, you can turn off both general switches (Location Services and Background App Refresh) so that not only the Facebook app but all apps consume less energy.
