Cheaper apps on the Google App store = Greater reach for app development
In India, they happen to be luckier when it comes to app prices on the Google Play Store – the lowest app prices are as low as Rs 10. Unlike most other countries around the world, where the minimum app price is 99 cents (around Rs 65).
After a successful trial of these price cuts in India, Google is lowering app prices in the app stores in several other countries. Among the lowest are now Ukraine and Turkey, with the lowest price revised to 21 cents, followed by Indonesia at 22 cents. The highest of these is Poland, which is now at 45 cents. Furthermore, all of these revised price caps are significantly lower than previous ones and will help in the effort to reach a wider audience that may be more “sensitive” about prices.
So, if you happen to be an Android app developer, eager to sell at a lower price, you can experiment with this setting in “Pricing and Distribution” or “In-app Products” in the Google Play Console.
