Morphisec, a new Israeli cybersecurity services company, has raised $7 million in funding, led by JVP, GE Ventures, Deutsche Telekom, Portage Advisors llc. and OurCrowd. The company has raised $8.5 million to date, including this funding.
Morphisec has created a new suite of security tools that protects businesses from targeted and zero-day attacks by using the concept of polymorphism – in other words, turning attackers’ tactics back on them. This innovative method of protection gives businesses the ability to detect attacks earlier than ever before, prevent them, and create digital trails of information about them.
The company was launched in 2014 at JVP Cyber Labs in Beer Sheva and the technology it offers comes from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. The actions that will start at the end of this quarter concern the promotion of Morphisec's products in North America and Europe. Behind the company are highly experienced technicians such as Professor Yuval Elovici, head of the Cyber Labs at Ben-Gurion University, Dudu Mimran, technical director of Deutsche Telekom Labs in Israel, and Mordechai Guri, senior researcher at the Cyber Labs at Ben-Gurion University.
As stated by Morphisec CEO Ronen Yehoshua, “The strategic investment from GE Ventures, Deutsche Telekom and other leading financial groups demonstrates the value of our cybersecurity tools across a broad spectrum of endpoints, servers, gateways and Cloud Security. We are already seeing strong engagement from leading enterprises and this investment will allow us to accelerate sales and product rollout in the US and Europe.”
