If, like me, you need a little help when mixing cocktails and are trying to remember the recipes you can make with the available spirits, the new Barman II smartphone, which connects via Bluetooth to the Cocktail Mixing Platform, may be the perfect solution.
EBC Services has created the Barman II based on the technology used in its original systems and now provides Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity that allows you to use a smartphone companion application, while also providing an open source system.
The new Cocktail Mixing Platform is available on both iOS and Android devices.
Its creators explain a little more:
“Simply choose any drink you want to make, the size you want it to be, and mix it up! You can customize any drink exactly the way you like it. Barman uses a proprietary drink scaling algorithm, so your cocktail will taste the same no matter what size you make it.
The Barman’s CREE LED lighting will illuminate your glass or shaker blue when it’s ready to mix. The display will tell you how much liquor to pour. As you fill, a progress bar will move across the screen, letting you know how much you have left to pour. When the progress bar has reached the end of the screen, the Barman will illuminate the glass or shaker red, letting you know to stop filling. It’s that simple!”
