Continuation of Sony's adventure with employee lawsuits

Sony

Sony Pictures Entertainment 's ordeal , which began with the company's massive hack by the GOP group Guardians of Peace last year, shows no sign of ending. The company recently failed to dismiss a lawsuit filed against it by nine former employees who claim their personal data was compromised due to the company's poor network security.

The US court, where the first hearing took place, even stated that the plaintiffs can pursue their claims against the company, relying on Sony's negligence in protecting the personal data of its employees.

The plaintiffs hold Sony Pictures Entertainment liable for failing to strengthen security measures, especially after the first cyberattacks it suffered.

Attorney Michael Sobol says he is quite satisfied with the first result, since the court recognized the moral damage suffered by these employees. Since the GOP in 2014, a lot of the company's employee information has been leaked online, including social security numbers, credit cards, addresses and phone numbers. They even claim that the company violated the confidentiality law in California by rejecting security measures to protect the sensitive data of its employees.

This attack was described as an act of revenge, instigated by the North Korean, in connection with the release of a comedy about the assassination of the country's leader.

The plaintiffs say that all of this has caused them enormous financial harm, and that the GOP incident is one of the worst nightmares they have ever experienced. In fact, they claim that their lives now resemble the horror movies we see in the cinema!
