A young woman was sentenced by Santa Cruz Superior Court to 6 years in prison after she confessed to giving a Google executive a lethal dose of heroin in California .
Alix of Tichelman pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and other drug charges in the 2013 death Google executive Forrest Timothy Hayes .
The young Tichelmandid not seek help for Hayeswhen he passed out after injecting him with heroin while they were on his boat.
The authorities state that Alix is a professional prostitute and that the victim hired her several other times beyond the fateful night of November 2013.
The plea deal was reached Tuesday as part of a plea agreement that included a reduced sentence for the manslaughter charge. Tichelman, Larry Biggam, said he expects his client to serve only half of the sentence she was given, as she will receive a reduction for the time she has already served, about a year.
He also stated that his client, Alix, agreed due to the new evidence that emerged.
«The administration of the excessive dose happened accidentally and between two consenting adults», added.
The young womanwas seen on security camera packing her things and walking away from Hayes, finishing her glass of wine before abandoning the boat. The victim's body was discovered by authorities the next day and Alix was arrested 8 months later.
