If you want to design the perfect road trip You don't just need to find the songs that will accompany you musically while you "swallow" kilometers on asphalt or get a good map with all the roads, highways, avenues and dirt roads. What you need is… some algorithms.
To be precise, an algorithm called "Where's Waldo.".
The man who created the algorithm managed to map the ultimate road trip in the USA, revealing the best way to visit 48 American states.
Using a series of equations, Randy Olsen, a data analyst from Michigan, claims to have managed to find a method that can also be used on shorter routes, "beating" Google Maps and providing the best possible route.
He invented his map when Discovery News challenged him to design the best route across continental America.

Its only restriction, as reported by MailOnline, was to make one stop in all 48 contiguous US states, along with Washington and two stops in California.
Every stop should be at a national, natural landmark, historic site, national park, or monument. And the car should never leave American soil.
He even created the perfect road trip for Europe, while those interested can find more information on his personal blog.

As he says, the European route covers 26,211 kilometers and can be completed in 14 days of continuous driving. However, Olsen advises those who dare to make the journey to… dedicate three months to discovering the beauties of the areas they will visit.
