Fit4Jobs: Free training for acquiring IT skills

 Fit4Jobs

The Hellenic Network of IT Professionals (HePIS) announces the launch of the Fit4Jobs.

Through the action plan, unemployed people will have the opportunity to participate in a 180-hour education and training program, completely free of charge, in advanced IT skills and specifically in programming and designing web applications, using software and tools that are in high demand in the labor market.
The design of the training program was carried out with the participation of dozens of companies from all over Europe, so as to facilitate the integration of candidates into the labor market and meet the growing needs of businesses, the majority of which are unable to fill jobs in the IT of the program.

Through the link www.hepis.gr/fit4jobs, candidates can register their participation in the program, which will begin in early March at training centers in the Prefecture of Attica.

The selection of candidates will be based on the e-competence benchmark tool of the European Council of Professional Associations in Information Technology (CEPIS), which evaluates candidates in relation to the specialties of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector. Employers who employ human resources in the ICT sector and wish to proceed with corresponding recruitments in the near future can also take part in the program.

Fit4Jobs is a European consortium consisting of IT bodies and organizations from the following countries: Greece (HePIS), Portugal (ACM IP), Spain (ACTR), Lithuania (LIA), Ireland (FIT), Latvia (LIKTA) as well as the European organization Telecentre Europe, and is supported by the European Union's Programme for Employment and Social Solidarity (PROGRESS 2007-2013).

At a pan-European level, Fit4Jobs is supported by dozens of companies, such as Microsoft, EMC, Cisco, Accenture, IBM, Oracle, while in Greece it is supported by the companies PeopleCert, SiEben, E-Arion, Theologos Konstantinos & Co., IKnowHow Informatics, AB Vassilopoulos, Data Communication, Filoktitis, Kariera.gr, Veltio and Master AE.
