With the motto of developing the innovation ecosystem, more than 25 Greek companies will participate this year in the Mobile World Congress, which will be held in Barcelona from March 2 to 5.
Presenting this year's Greek mission in Barcelona, the Association's general director, Yiannis Kotsis-Giannarakis, highlighted the key points of the strategy for the development of the innovation ecosystem, which is also the motto of the official Greek mission: "Extroversion, utilization of human capital, synergies and connection of technology with the most traditional sectors of production and the needs of society. In this direction, the expertise of SEKEE members from the field of Mobile Internet, which is generally accepted as the fastest growing and most disruptive sector in the world, will be a key component for restarting the economy.".
Stefanos Isaias, CEO of EnterpriseGreece, emphasized that the innovation and technology sector has strategically important competitive advantages for our country: "This is a sector with high added value that is based on the highly qualified human resources of our country and is already emerging as a sector with intense business activity based on innovation.".
The leader of this year's mission and member of the board of directors of SEKEE, Vangelis Antoniadis, said that the "national technology team", as the Greek missions have been called, will be in Barcelona for the third consecutive year to remain within the Mobility landscape and to further expand the networking of the participating companies, "something that, undoubtedly, will help the overall extroversion of the sector", as he pointed out.
Participants announced so far include SingularLogic, mSensis, MPASS, TripInView, Charalambos Dimitrakas SA, M-Stat, Horizon Video Technologies, Cytech Mobile, Micronet, EKETA, Regate, Fasmetrics, VoiceWeb, Accusonus, Oxygen Broadband, Globo, Upstream, VCI, Viva, Inaccess, Newsphone, Telenavis, Locotel, Obrela Security Industries.
The initiative to create a space with a Greek color at MWC belongs to the Association of Mobile Application Companies of Greece (SEKEE), has the support of the Greek state (through the General Secretariat of Telecommunications & Posts) and is co-organized by EnterpriseGreece. Also important is the contribution of INNOVATHENS, the innovation and entrepreneurship hub of the Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens, which is a strategic partner of SEKEE.
More information about this year's Greek participation in Mobile World Congress will be announced on February 26 at the Divani Caravel hotel and within the framework of the Infocom Mobile World conference.
