How would you feel if the mobile phone provider was not a "classic" telecommunications company but Google? In Greece we may not see something like this in the near future, but in the United States a portion of users is quite likely to soon have this option.

According to a report by tech news site The Information, Google intends to provide mobile telephony services very soon, albeit on a relatively limited scale. The American technology giant's plan is to operate as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), that is, using the infrastructure of another provider.
In this case, Google is reportedly in discussions with Sprint and T-Mobile USA to sublease their infrastructure.
The plan, codenamed Nova, is set to launch later this year, the report said. The company plans to offer mobile services initially in areas where it already offers broadband access via its fiber optic network (Google Fiber).
