Facebook Inc. 's artificial intelligence research labs have already begun the first efforts to develop a mechanism that will take on the role of secretary for whatever the user intends to upload or write online.

Facebook's digital assistant will be tasked with protecting your online profile. So, in the hypothetical scenario above, the photo you're uploading will be examined by the secretary, who will see that you're drunk, and ask you, "Are you sure you want your employer or your mother to see this photo?" explains LeCan, a researcher at New York University who is considered a guru in the field of "machine learning.".
Today, Facebook’s newly formed artificial intelligence department—which recently celebrated its first year under LeCan’s leadership from the start—has successfully identified faces on the vast social network to help it provide names that broaden the reach of photos. AI is also choosing which ads to show in the News Feed, analyzing a user’s overall behavior to increase the likelihood of a click. Soon, it will be able to analyze the text a user types to suggest relevant hashtags, which will add each post to a broader public conversation.
The "secretary" will also be responsible for protecting your personal data, the researcher pointed out.
