Steps towards closer cooperation between Kaspersky and the EU law enforcement agency, Europol, took place this month, when representatives from the security company met with representatives from EC3 and exchanged knowledge on various security issues.

30 members of EC3 (Europol's European Cybercrime Centre) benefited from discussions with Kaspersky experts on cybersecurity, digital evidence, malware analysis, as well as the importance of cybersecurity awareness.

Collaboration aims for a safer cyberspace

This knowledge exchange occurred as a result of the signing by the two parties of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) earlier this month at the Cybercrime Conference in Singapore, hosted by Interpol and Europol.

The agreement facilitates the exchange of information between the two parties regarding cyber threats. This includes expertise, statistics, trends and other strategic details.

Eugene Kaspersky, founder of the security company, said that public-private partnerships of this kind are essential to making cyberspace a safer place.
