Anonymous: Threatens to blackout government websites in China and Hong Kong

_1--5-thumb-largeThe Anonymous group is threatening to blackout the websites of the Chinese and Hong Kong governments and leak thousands of government email address details.

The group of activist hackers, under the title “Operation Hong Kong” or '#OpHongKong' or '#OpHK' on Twitter, announced today that they will launch an attack against Chinese government servers via Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS).

“We warn you, prepare yourself, try to stop it, the only thing you will succeed in is taking down all your websites. China, you cannot stop us. You should have waited for us before abusing your power against the citizens of Hong Kong.”.

Among the websites that Anonymous is threatening to attack are those of China's Ministries of Public Order, Defense, Justice, and the Hong Kong Police Department.

Hong Kong students, the spearhead of the democracy movement in this autonomous territory of China, are preparing for mass rallies today and the strengthening of the protest campaign after the cancellation of dialogue with the authorities.

Hong Kong is facing its most serious political crisis since its return to Chinese rule in 1997. Beijing accepted the introduction of universal suffrage in the 2017 local government elections, but retained control over the nomination of candidates.
