Silent Circle and Blackphone have jointly launched a new bug bounty program to identify vulnerabilities in the “Blackphone”, the most secure smartphone on the market (according to its creators).
Blackphone has set a minimum reward of $128 for anyone who manages to discover a vulnerability in PrivatOS, the device's operating system, as well as in the servers or associated web portals used by Blackphone.
Silent Circle pays the same amount for bugs found in network services, cloud infrastructure, websites, and web services.
“Blackphone” has been built to effectively protect users' privacy, combining specialized software and a series of services that allow for the secure making of calls - exchanging text messages - transferring & storing files - conducting video chats, without fear of monitoring or recording their activities.
Blackphone is the result of a joint venture between Silent Circle and mobile hardware manufacturer Geeksphone, and is marketed as the ultimate secure communication tool.
