The encouragement of «confidential» material sharing is the goal of the application being developed by Facebook, according to a post by Techcrunch.
According to Techcrunch, which cites a number of sources, the code name of the app is «Moments» and it will provide users with a special interface through which they can share personal moments with friends and family members.
The goal is supposedly to encourage users who would like to share personal-character material with people they are closely connected to, but are discouraged by the increasingly complex privacy settings of the social network.
It is not clarified whether and when the app will be released, as, as noted in the past, Facebook has experimented with many things that did not evolve into products. It is noted that a company spokesperson stated that rumors or assumptions are not being commented on.
According to the post, one of the sources has seen a «live» version of the app, whose interface points to a network of tiles representing sets of close friends or family, which one can step on to share material with them. What is being pursued is to make «selective» sharing faster with different sets of people compared to the main Facebook application, which focuses more on the material than on the audience.
