Microsoft has announced a new major change to its cloud-based storage service OneDrive, which concerns the 2GB file size limit.
The company plans to remove this limit, which forces users to upload files that do not exceed 2 gigabytes.
This change will be gradually applied to all accounts, giving users the ability to upload even larger files.
“As we’ve mentioned, we’ve begun working to increase the file size limit for all OneDrive accounts. We’ve started the process with a small number of customers and will continue to roll it out to our full customer base. We’ll share more with you in the near future, stay tuned to the OneDrive blog,” a company spokesperson said.
