Beneficiaries are those who also receive the social dividend

The pilot implementation of a program that will cost 80 million euros and provide free internet to more than 150,000 families has already been decided.

The aim of the Ministry of Development and Competitiveness - following a meeting between Deputy Minister Odysseas Konstantinopoulos and competent bodies - is to facilitate access to the internet for vulnerable social groups by utilizing funds.

The beneficiaries will essentially be those who receive the social dividend. Based on the decisions, they will be able to acquire or maintain their internet connection until October 2015, but also to acquire basic internet access equipment and familiarity with computers. For this reason, courses and demonstrations are planned at their premises in the use of a PC and the internet, as well as distance learning regarding the basic use of a computer and the internet.

Beneficiaries will receive a special coupon to be able to have all the above benefits.
