With this title, the company Tempo OMD, proceeded with a recent study, analyzing a sample of 3,500 men and women, 18-54 years old. The 19 things, as reflected in the presentation of the study, in addition to the way they use smartphones and tablets, show what the general relationship between Greeks and mobile technology is.
Occupation
According to the results of the survey, 51% of Greeks have a smartphone, 77% a laptop, 29% a game console, such as Playstation, while 10% choose a tablet. At the same time, we use smartphones and tablets as a “second screen”, while 40% watch television. At the same time, the three most popular sites we visit through gadgets, as a “second screen” are Facebook, Google and Twitter.
Age and gender
The ages that choose smartphones are 18-44 years old and usually, single at a rate of 55% men and 45% women, while tablet owners are mainly, married, 35-54 years old and are divided into 60% men and 40% women. The majority of smartphone and tablet owners use them to “enter” mainly, on social networking sites, to play games, to read news and sports news. This is followed by interest in travel information, weather and online shopping.
Use
74% of users use smartphones and tablets at home, while 65% when they are out and about. The four main reasons for use are entertainment, information, convenience and, as mentioned above, online shopping, while the most popular applications found on most devices, in no particular order of popularity, are Facebook, YouTube, Skype, Twitter, Whats App, Instagram, Google Maps, Shazam, Viber, Foursquare, Candy Crash, Taxibeat, Saga and Angry Birds.
From the mobile phones we used to only make calls and send messages, today we have countless choices of mobile phones that are more like computers. Songs, videos, news, sports news, electronic games are among the most favorite things that Greeks who are generally involved with mobile technology do.
