After its accidental appearance in Apple's App Store , Slingshot , Facebook 's new app, has officially appeared for iOS and Android devices, only in the US.
With Slingshot, users can send messages with photos or short videos to which they can add text and drawings they create themselves.
The main requirement for someone to receive the picture messageis that they respond in turn, and this is the big difference compared to its competitor, Snapchat.
Slingshot does not require a Facebook account from users, as it uses the mobile phone number , while friends can be found either from the mobile phone's contact list or from Facebook, if they wish.
