Experiments continue on Facebook, as the company officially announced that it will soon upgrade the social network's mobile applications for Android and iOS, bringing a Shazam-style media file recognition function (music, movies, TV shows) to automatically add information to status updates.
Imagine that you have the recognition option enabled and you are in a bar when you suddenly decide to write a new status.
You will then see a sound icon in the frame and if you tap it it will search to find what song is playing at that moment.
If it is found in the database, then with your permission it will add the relevant information to your status along with a 30-second preview!
If you are watching a TV show, it adds the name of the episode and the season.
The new feature will be added, as we mentioned above, in the coming weeks and of course you will have the option to disable it.
