Another hacker who helped the FBI capture LulzSec's "Kayla"

Recently, some court documents were unearthed that reveal that “Sabu” isn’t the only hacker who helped the feds. In fact, the FBI used a hacker with the alias “Eekdacat” to exploit his involvement in the 2010 Gawker breach to help them arrest “Kayla.”

The conviction of Hector Xavier Monsegur, also known as LulzSec hacker Sabu, was recently overturned for the seventh time. Sabu, who pleaded guilty in August 2011, became a fixture and helped break up the LulzBoat group, but he wasn’t the only hacker to go astray; the feds have also identified other hackers. Three weeks after Sabu’s arrest, FBI agents arrested Thomas “Eekdacat” Madden, a 26-year-old man with autism.
