The Japanese giant is changing strategy.
Nintendo, seeing that the Wii U has not managed to achieve the sales it had calculated, is going to change strategy in order to return to profitable paths.
According to statements by Nintendo president Satoru Iwata to Bloomberg, new consoles will be released exclusively for emerging markets, which includes our country. These consoles will not be cheaper versions of the Wii U and 3DS (as was the case with the Nintendo 2DS), but will be created from scratch, will follow a different pricing policy and will be sold cheaper.
The Japanese company's finances showed a deficit of $329 million in the fourth quarter of 2013 with sales of the Wii U not being as expected. We remind you that recently there have been strong rumors that Nintendo is going to present new hardware at this year's E3, while the registration of a patent concerning a console with detachable parts also came to light.
