Granted, there are several platforms like eBay and Etsy where you could get involved by opening your own digital store, but here's where you can do business on another, infinitely more popular one! What is it? Have you heard of ... Facebook ? Great! Shopify shows you the way.
I came across Shopify by chance and was surprised because I didn't imagine there would be something that would do what it does. What does it do? It allows you to create an e-shop within Facebook! With an easy-to-use interface (aka CMS), you choose the collections or products of your store that you want to appear on your Facebook page (yes, a prerequisite is that your e-shop is built with Shopify), modify its appearance, update it in real time and choose who can see it.
Looking for cases of stores that went live on Facebook through Shopify, I found Pure Fix Cycles (a bike shop), FoxyMango (cosmetics, shampoo and the rest) and Datsusara (clothes and so on) among others. In terms of implementation, I can't say that Shopify does a bad job - quite the opposite, actually. Through its site, you can try the entire service for 14 days, and then if you're satisfied, you'll need to get a subscription (they start at $14 per month and go up to $179). Interesting, though...
