“You don't realize it, but your iPhone knows exactly where you are and how long you've been there.” Jim Watterson's BuzzFeed article published on April 29 brought to light, for most of us, the secret functions of our mobile phones.
These are the countless functions that Apple lists on its pages but no one reads. One of these “services” is the Location Service.
“Your iPhone remembers the places you’ve recently visited, as well as the exact dates of your visits and how often. This data is stored on your phone and is not sent to Apple without your consent. However, it allows it to provide you with personalized services, such as a pre-determined route,” the company’s manual says.
Apple also warns that for security reasons, your location information may be used to facilitate the arrival of a protection team, whether you have enabled the location service yourself or not.”
