Innovative move that gives German women the opportunity to avoid... drying out on the streets
A new smartphone app in Germany gives would-be clients the opportunity to communicate with prostitutes without taking to the streets.
The Peppr app was created by Austrian Pia Poppenreiter, who had the idea when she saw girls standing in the cold on a Berlin street.
As she revealed to Gruderszene magazine: "I was wearing a skirt and it was really cold. I saw a girl on the street and I thought there are apps for everything, but not for something like this. Why should they stand like this in the winter?".
Prostitution is legal in Germany and the company only works with independent workers and escort agencies, not brothels. To ensure that the prostitutes are not part of any sex trafficking ring, Peppr interviews those who want to advertise before signing with them.
