Popular site eBay has added a new trading category for virtual currencies, allowing users to sell and trade Bitcoin, Dogecoin, as well as other cryptocurrencies.
According to Coindesk, which first spotted the brand new section, the website also allows users to sell shares in mining operations and contracts, as well as purchase equipment necessary for the practice.
eBay eBay is closely tied to PayPal, the online payments company, which should be cautious about adopting the virtual currency.
The auction site, on the other hand, seems to be a perfectly acceptable option for exchanging Bitcoins. While the company didn’t make any big announcement regarding the introduction of this new feature, it was mentioned in the “Category Changes” published in April.
The new feature appears to be available to platform users in the US only. Listings indicate that cryptocurrencies will be shipped electronically as the most common method, while others mention UPS or FedEx as an option.
