Saudi Arabia has decided to block access to The Pirate Bay, sparking widespread protests from users. The world's most popular torrent site was blocked by the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Information for reasons that are still unknown.
The questions that arise are many, as there was no warning or official announcement before the blocking. Users who tried to visit The Pirate Bay yesterday were met with a notice informing them that the website violated existing regulations of the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Information.
In addition to The Pirate Bay, the websites Torrentz.eu and Rarbg.com have also been blocked, as well as many other torrent sites.
The ban has caused an uproar on social media. The issue is currently dominating Twitter, where many users are expressing their frustration.
