With the aim of equal access to its products and services for everyone, Vodafone provides its subscribers with the pioneering application «Vodafone Speaking App», which is addressed to users with total vision loss or severe vision problems.
The Vodafone Speaking App is a text-to-speech engine for Android that provides correct reading of Greek in written messages (SMS), electronic mail (email), the internet, as well as telephone numbers from the contacts list, calls, dates, etc. Additionally, it offers proper reading of Greek in useful applications such as news, entertainment, weather forecasting, etc.
The app is available for free from Vodafone on Google Play to contract or prepaid Vodafone subscribers and is compatible with Android smartphones and tablets with OS version 2.3 and newer. Users of other networks can trial the app for one day per SIM card.
The «Vodafone Speaking App» meets the modern needs of smartphone and tablet users and comes as an evolution of the «Vodafone Speaking Phone» service that was first presented in 2005 within the framework of the Sustainable Development program.
