The popular social network appears to continue acquiring small companies and this time the target was a small company called Branch Media.
Branch Media is a company that consists of 10 people in total and is responsible for two services which, as it seems, have attracted Facebook's interest.
The first service is called “Branch” and is a platform where users can create private discussions by invitation only (invite only), with other users and then, if they want, make them public…
The other service is called “Potluck” and essentially is a mobile application through which users can inform their friends about various things that impress them on the internet etc…
For now, both applications will continue their operation outside Facebook (unknown however for how long)
Finally, the acquisition of Branch Media cost Facebook just under $20 million and we are waiting to see how it will integrate these two services…
