Seagate Introduces Backup Plus Slim and Backup Plus FAST (Portable 4TB!) [CES 2014]

Seagate introduced two new products at this year's CES 2014, covering all the needs for portable hard drives for even the most demanding users. The Seagate Backup Plus Slim features a sleek design and a USB 3.0 port for fast file transfers while including Seagate Dashboard, the backup software that offers security with a single click.

Additionally, you can set up automatic backup of your photo albums on Facebook and Flickr with full support even for photos in which you have been tagged.

What stands out this year is the addition of a backup option for mobile devices. By installing a special app for iOS and Android, you can keep a copy of all the photos and videos from your devices on disk or in the cloud (e.g. Dropbox or Google Drive). The Backup Plus Slim comes in at $99.99 for 500GB, $119.99 for 1TB, $179.99 for 2TB and $299.99 for 4TB.

The Seagate Backup Plus FAST, on the other hand, is the first 4TB portable drive that offers twice the speed and capacity of current offerings on the market. It features a USB 3.0 port, delivers transfer speeds of up to 220MB per second, and is formatted as RAID 0. It includes, of course, the same backup software as the rest of the Backup Plus series, including a copy function for mobile devices.

The Backup Plus FAST starts at $299.99 with 4TB of storage. Both product categories are available immediately from Seagate's website.
