The Greek expatriate app that… drove Apple crazy

John Papandriopoulos

Apple now owns the SnappyCam application of an Australian expatriate, 35-year-old Yannis Papandriopoulos, as the American company itself confirmed in an announcement, without, however, revealing its intentions regarding its exploitation.

The SnappyCam app allows the user to take 20 high-quality photos in just one second, and its acquisition by Apple is part of its overall strategy, which is summed up as "we acquire everything that moves" in smaller companies.

The amount for which Apple acquired SnappyCam is still unknown.
