A single mother from Bradford, England, tried to sell her four-month-old baby boy online for $250,000, leading social services to take her two children away from her, deeming her unfit to raise them.
The 20-year-old placed an ad for the younger of her two boys on the Gumtree website, provoking strong reactions from website visitors, who immediately notified the police and social services.
The young mother claimed that her ex-husband pushed her to place the ad as part of a bet and that she had no intention of selling. She also said she was devastated that she had been stripped of the right to raise her two children.
