The company is developing an easy speech-based method
Adding keywords to photos (tags) can be a very time-consuming process, but it is the ideal method of grouping photos and helps immensely when trying to find a photo on our hard drive.
AppleInsider has discovered a new patent from Apple that takes the process of adding tags to a photo one step further. This new patent will allow users of its portable smart devices to add tags to their photos with their voice. In addition to adding tags, the new patent will also allow for searching photos using speech.
The patent uses Siri technology and is officially called “Voice-Based Image Tagging and Searching.” In other words, in a photo showing a beach, the user will be able to say “us at the beach” to add the keyword beach to the photo as well as their name (as well as the names of those in the photo).
Then by saying "show me photos of me at the beach" he will be able to display only the photos that show himself at the beach.
In addition, the new technology will be able to automatically recognize faces, buildings and landscapes in order to automatically tag photos with similar characteristics, without having to add tags to each photo separately.
We look forward with great interest to seeing when and to which device the above technology will be added.
