Cryptolocker , the dangerous ransomware that encrypts files on computers and then demands a ransom to "unlock" them, continues to spread, and without making... exceptions .
As reported by security software company Sophos, among the recent victims was a police station in Massachusetts, which decided to pay the ransom demanded by the scammers, amounting to approximately $750, in order to “release” their files.
CryptoLocker is a malware that belongs to the ransomware category, which "locks" files on computers by encrypting them, and then the crooks who created them demand a ransom to provide the decryption key.
The problem could be solved, as in any other case, if there was a backup of the critical system files, and this should become a conscious decision for all of us: to keep backups of our important files, not only for similar cases but just in case!
