Spotify Premium users can now enjoy perfect audio fidelity playback in the Windows app , thanks to the new “ Exclusive Mode .”
Starting today, Tuesday, Spotify users will have access to 'Exclusive Mode', a new feature in the streaming service for Windows, which can maximize audio quality by giving the Spotify app full control over the device's audio processing.
According to Spotify, 'your computer can alter the sound before it reaches your DAC, through resampling, mixing in other system sounds , and changing the volume.' Enabling the new Exclusive Mode prevents all of the above, which Spotify says allows for 'perfect audio fidelity playback.'

Spotify: How to enable Exclusive Mode?
The feature is currently only available users Spotify Premium on Windows, but Spotify says it will be available on the Mac app 'in a future release'.
- To try it out, go to the settings of the Spotify app for Windows and select 'Playback'.
- In this menu, select audio device from the 'Output' options.
- Activate 'Exclusive Mode'.
Please note that audio from other apps, as well as Spotify's automix and crossfade features, will not work when Exclusive Mode is enabled.
