Perplexity brings artificial intelligence closer to its users, with a new Personal Computer that combines the AI agent platform with the local applications of a Mac mini .
At the end of February, Perplexity introduced the Perplexity Computer, a personal AI assistant. That idea has now been expanded to work more locally. The Personal Computer “works with a Mac mini, merging local applications with the Perplexity Computer.”

Perplexity presented the Personal Computer as follows:
“Announcing the Personal Computer. The Personal Computer is an always-on, local merger of the Perplexity Computer that works for you 24/7. It’s personal, secure, and runs all your files, applications, and sessions on a Mac mini.
Perplexity Computer runs in a secure environment and is controlled from any device, anywhere. You can run Perplexity Computer on a Mac desktop that is connected to local applications and Perplexity's secure servers.
The idea behind this Personal Computer is to offer users a more personal and direct experience of interacting with artificial intelligence, by allowing AI agents to access and process files stored locally on the computer. This opens up new possibilities for automating tasks and providing personalized solutions, as agents can adjust their actions based on the data at their disposal.
