Some employees at the US National Security Agency (NSA) claim that President Obama knew about surveillance programs on the leaders of 35 countries.
According to the Los Angeles Times, employees of the NSA and other unidentified US agencies are reportedly very "angry" and believe that the president "sold them out" while trying to clear his reputation from a scandal that has angered US allies abroad.
On Monday, unidentified intelligence officials told the Washington Post that President Obama was unaware of NSA spying activities targeting allied leaders, including Angela Merkel. According to U.S. officials, some of the 35 world leaders are still under surveillance.
