Microsoft has decided to remove the “RT” branding from its Surface tablets , as it was causing confusion among consumers, something that Jack Cowett.
The new products, now called Surface 2, are Microsoft's attempt to reintroduce its tablets to consumers, after the negative performance of the first Surfaces that were released a year ago under the Surface RT.
As the company's product manager , Jack Cowett, told an Australian media outlet , "We think there was some confusion last year about the difference between Surface RT and Surface Pro . We want to make it easier for people to understand that these are two different products for two different types of consumers."
The Surface 2 features a Full HD display and its stand has been redesigned based on user feedback. “We’ve increased the range of angles the devices can be used comfortably as a laptop,” Cowett explained,
In addition to being thinner and lighter, the new Surface will have up to 10 hours and will come pre-installed with Windows 8.1 and a full version of Office 2013 RT.
