Canonical has announced that a new kernel update is available for the Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx) operating system, to fix three vulnerabilities in the Linux kernel 2.6, which had been identified by various developers.
These are the three kernel vulnerabilities affecting Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx): CVE-2013-0343, CVE-2013-2888, and CVE-2013-2892.
The vulnerabilities are related to the Linux kernel's IPv6 network and the Linux Human Interface Device (HID) subsystem. Please take a look at the official security update published by Canonical on September 30, 2013, for more detailed descriptions, as it also affects other Linux operating systems.
The security vulnerabilities can be fixed by upgrading your system to the linux-image-2.6.32-52 (2.6.32-52.114) package. To apply the update, run the Update Manager application or follow the instructions below: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Security/Upgrades.
