Sony is getting closer to the idea of a bundle
For now, Sony may not be announcing a bundle that includes the PS4 and PS Vita in the same package. But that could change in the future. Fergal Gara, managing director of PlayStation UK, believes the company still has the option to announce the bundle, but is currently in the planning stages for the PS4 launch.
Speaking about the PS4 demo of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag at Gamescom, which was played on PS Vita, Gara said: "Seeing the reaction from players, and then seeing a surge in PS Vita sales after the demo, was pretty encouraging. So there's interest in the machine.
"At the moment, we are not planning to release a bundle that includes PS4 and PS Vita, but we could easily change our minds and have it ready by launch, it's not difficult. For now, we are continuing with the original plan, so it is neither a yes nor a no. The concept is getting closer and closer to reality with each passing week.".
It's undoubtedly a move that could give a clear boost to the company's handheld. Sony knows how to play the marketing game well and, as Fergal said, we'll be waiting week after week for more news.
