The device could be released by November.
Rumors have been circulating online for the past few hours that, after Samsung, LG is also working on its first mobile phone with a curved screen. One of the first websites to "upload" the news was the Korean branch of the technology site ZDNet, while the American CNET followed, citing sources from the Korean company.
According to these sources, CNET reports that the smartphone is likely to be released in November, although LG has not yet fully settled on its plans. The new model will have a 6-inch display and a curved profile, making it easier to use and "hug" the user's face when making calls.
To achieve this profile, the phone will be equipped with an OLED display, which is normally flexible. However, the display will be on a fixed, curved frame.
LG had prepared the ground for such a smartphone months ago, with the announcement of its first curved TV. In fact, LG's Curved OLED TV is already available in Greece, as pre-orders have begun in our country since September 21.
