This functionality is similar to the “mini” apps found on messaging platforms like Telegram and Discord, but with a touch of artificial intelligence. Users can continue to chat with ChatGPT while providing instructions on how they want it to interact with an app.

Several services have begun testing built-in app interfaces for ChatGPT. For example, Spotify’s integration allows users to connect their accounts with the AI chatbot, allowing them to search for an artist’s latest album or create playlists of their favorite alternative rock bands. Users can also ask for music or podcast recommendations based on past conversations with ChatGPT, which will return a list of tracks accessible through the Spotify app. Free users can access music from existing playlists, while Premium users can create personalized selections.
The Canva within ChatGPT allows users to create, preview, and edit designs directly from the chatbot interface. Users can request designs, such as an Instagram post for a sale, and Canva will generate full-screen previews that can be improved with additional instructions. Once satisfied, users can continue editing in Canva.

Figma integration allows users to create diagrams based on files on their computers, suggest changes to existing diagrams, and develop visualization ideas. Users can edit diagrams or charts by selecting the “ Edit in Figma ” button.
Zillow is also launching a ChatGPT app that uses its database of real estate listings to find properties that match users’ preferences. Users can ask about affordable homes near them or request listings with specific features, such as a large yard. The Zillow integration currently supports home rentals and sales by owners and brokers, with plans to add features like new construction listings and 3D tours.
