The next generation of Apple Vision Pro is revealed

Apple has filed a filing for a “Head-mounted Device” that looks a lot like a new Vision Pro.

We've been hearing rumors about Apple's plans to release a new version of its Vision Pro headset for months, and now a new filing with the Federal Communications Commission seems to confirm the company's work on the new device. In a filing spotted by MacRumors, Apple includes a diagram of a "Headset" that looks a lot like the Vision Pro headset.

Details in the filing are still limited, but it lists the upcoming headset with the model number A3416 and says it will support Wi-Fi 6, similar to the original Apple Vision Pro. In July, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that Apple could release a new Vision Pro headset “as early as this year.” It’s rumored to come with a redesigned strap to combat head and neck pain, while code accidentally shared by Apple suggests it could feature a more powerful M5 coprocessor.

In addition to the Vision Pro with the M5 processor, Apple is reportedly working on a lighter and cheaper Vision “Air” that is expected to be released in 2027, according to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The company is also rumored to be working on smart glasses similar to the Ray-Ban Meta, with voice control and gesture recognition.

Apple's new filing with the Federal Communications Commission provides a first look at the company's upcoming technological innovations in the field of augmented reality devices. The possible integration of Wi-Fi 6 and a more powerful M5 processor suggests that Apple is aiming to improve the performance and user experience of the Vision Pro. Furthermore, the rumored upgrade of the strap shows that the company is considering user comfort, which is crucial for long-term use of such devices.

Apple's strategy to develop a lighter and more affordable Vision "Air" shows its intention to expand its market and attract a wider audience. The possible launch of smart glasses with voice control and gesture recognition shows the company's effort to enter new markets and offer innovative solutions that combine technology with everyday life.
