We finally have our first glimpse of BMW’s future. The iX3 is “a giant leap” from current BMW vehicles with nearly 800 km of range, ultra-fast charging and the brand’s advanced new technology. The BMW iX3 marks the beginning of a new era for the German luxury brand.

BMW has promised that the iX3 will be “the industry benchmark.” The sleek new electric SUV made its world debut at the Munich Motor Show as the first of BMW’s Neue Klasse models . After unveiling the new electric SUV, CEO Oliver Zipse called it “a once-in-a-lifetime moment” and the start of a new era for BMW.
The iX3 is the first of a completely new generation of BMW vehicles, built from the ground up. BMW has “skipped a whole generation” in terms of design, Zipse said, adding that it is still “more BMW than ever.”.
To maximize range, BMW has given it a clean, aerodynamic design with very few lines. One of the first things you'll notice is the redesigned front end, centered around a refreshed vertically oriented grille, designed to match the vehicle's more upright design.
As the first vehicle powered by the new Gen6 platform , the iX3 is “a huge leap” from current BMW models in terms of range, charging, efficiency and more. It is also the first BMW electric vehicle with bi-directional charging capability
The BMW iX3 offers an impressive WLTP range of up to almost 800 km. On the EPA scale, it is expected to provide around 400 miles of range. Based on an 800V architecture, the BMW iX3 can offer charging speeds of up to 400 kW, meaning it can add over 370 km in just 10 minutes.

The interior features an updated minimalist design with a huge 17.9-inch infotainment screen, powered by the new Operating System X.It is also the first BMW model to debut the new Panoramic iDrive, which "offers a completely new driving experience" and will be used in all upcoming BMW vehicles.
BMW's new infotainment is powered by four advanced computers that can process data about 20 times faster than the systems found in current vehicles.
At 4,782 mm long, 1,895 mm wide and 1,635 mm high, the BMW iX3 is about the same size as the Porsche Macan Electric.
BMW will begin production of the iX3 later this year at its new plant in Debrecen. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in Europe in early 2026, followed by the U.S. in the summer. BMW will build a special variant for China, which will be produced at its Shenyang plant.
It will initially be launched as the BMW iX3 50 xDrive. In Germany, it is already registered with prices starting at €68,900 ($81,000).
In the U.S., the new BMW iX3 will be available in the summer of 2026, starting at around $60,000 with an estimated range of around 400 miles. In early 2027, BMW will launch the iX3 40 sDrive and iX3 40 xDrive, with prices starting under $55,000 and slightly over 300 miles of range.

Starting next year, BMW said every vehicle will be all-new. The new iX3 will be the first of 40 new or refreshed BMW vehicles by 2027.
